Description

There are three main types of solder: lead-based, lead-free, and flux. Also, yet importantly, lead-free solder performs better in soldering Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). Due to the mentioned mechanical properties, lead-free solders don’t spread at any point during reflow, and there’s no rapid stencil wear in the course of the soldering process.

Lead-free solder does not flow as well as lead-based solder. It undergoes wetting slowly. Joints tend to be less effective in self-regulation ability, tensile power, and shear capacity.
