Introduction of NRF51822 Chip on Module:

The ultra-low power (ULP) wireless system-on-chip is designed using the Bluetooth 4.0 chip NRF51822 from NORDIC. nRF51822 is a multi-protocol single-chip solution for ultra-low power wireless applications (ULP wirelesss applications). It integrates Nordic’s wireless transceiver, an ARM Cortex M0 core and 256KB of flash + 16KB of RAM. nRF51822 supports Bluetooth4.0 low energy and dedicated 2.4GHz protocol stack. Lower power consumption, higher performance nRF51822 uses 32-bit ARM Cortex M0 core, on-chip 256kB flash (when developing Bluetooth 4.0 programs, 176kB can be used for application development). Compared with 8/16-bit platforms, it has better code density and faster execution speed.

The Programmable Peripheral Interconnect (PPI) system provides a 16-channel bus that enables peripherals to communicate directly and autonomously without MCU intervention. This will reduce the delay caused by peripheral communication through the CPU, and can keep the CPU sleeping during the communication process to reduce power consumption. The chip has two power modes – ON/OFF, and all system modules and peripherals have independent power management, which is used to control the corresponding modules to switch between RUN/IDLE states according to task requirements. . The module supports Bluetooth low energy (Bluetooth low energy) and is compatible with Nordic’s nRF24L series products. The output power range is from +4dBm to -20dBm in 4dB steps.
